Retroid Pocket 5 gets two new colors borrowed from the Pocket G2

The Retroid Pocket 5 was announced back in 2024 and already received a successor in the form of the Pocket 6. Retroid also released a second handheld, the Pocket G2, which is almost identical to the Pocket 5, but with a newer processor. Unfortunately, the Pocket G2 was discontinued in March 2026, less than six months after its launch. Now, Retroid has launched the Pocket 5 in two new colors, borrowed from the Pocket G2.
The new colors are Yellow and Turquoise, and they join the initial four announced at launch which are GC (Purple), 16 Bit (Gray), White, and Black. These two new colors were originally for the Pocket G2. However, with that device now discontinued, it appears Retroid has decided to use the leftover shells for the Pocket 5. This shouldn't be surprising since both devices have the same design.
Interested buyers can now purchase the Pocket 5 in the two new colors on the Retroid website. The price remains unchanged at $199. Retroid has also released its official Pocket 5 Grip case in the new colors, so buyers can match the case to their handheld. The cases are also available to buy now for $15.
In addition, Retroid also sells “clear” backplates for the Pocket 5 in Ice Blue, Ice Green, Crystal, and Black. This is great for those who already own the Pocket 5, but want to give their device a new look.
The Retroid Pocket 5 (available on Amazon for $249) has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor and has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It runs Android 13 out of the box and has a 5,000mAh battery, a cooling fan, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1. The handheld also has Hall Effect thumbsticks and analog triggers.
