It has been reported that the Pixel 11 series will also incorporate Samsung’s latest display technology, just like Apple for its iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. This should result in brighter and more durable displays, with improved efficiency.

The next Pixel phone lineup is expected to be an iterative upgrade over the Pixel 10 series with only small visual changes. On the inside, it is expected to get the typical generational improvements but a new leak states that Google is going to use Samsung’s latest display tech, just like Apple, which should bring some significant improvements to the display output.

Korean publication ET News (machine translated) reports that Google is going to use Samsung’s M16 OLED panels for its Pixel 11 series. This generation of displays is said to be brighter, deliver better colors, more durable, as well as more power efficient. This also suggests that Samsung is skipping the M15 moniker which could mean that M16 is bringing more significant upgrades than M14 did over M13.

What this means is that the Pixel 11 series should get more meaningful display upgrades and possibly better battery life. The phones will also feature the Tensor G6 which should be more powerful and efficient, also contributing to improved battery life. Furthermore, previous leaks have hinted at slimmer bezels across the lineup.

The report also mentions - as previously covered -  that Apple will be using the same display technology for its iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the folding iPhone supposedly called the iPhone Ultra. For this, Samsung will be supplying around 50 million units of the M16 OLEDs, and about 10 million for the iPhone Ultra by the second half of this year. As Apple continues to use this tech in other iPhone models, they will become the new standard, significantly benefitting not just Samsung but also the companies that supply materials for these panels.

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11 series in August while Apple is said to bring out the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September, along with the iPhone Ultra. This would make Google the first manufactuerer to bring Samsung's latest display tech to market. Samsung, on the other hand, will announce its Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in July but the M16 panels will only show up in the Galaxy S27 series next year.
