Honor launches affordable smartphone with 6.8-inch display and 7,000 mAh battery

Honor has unveiled its latest Play 80 Pro smartphone in the Chinese market. The company’s new smartphone ships with a 6.8-inch LCD display with a 1610 x 720 pixel resolution, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 850 nits. Dimensionally, it measures 8.24 mm (0.32 inch) in thickness and weighs about 207 grams (045 lbs).
Inside the smartphone is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset paired with 256 GB of storage and up to 12 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there’s no room for storage expansion. Software-wise, it runs Android 15-based MagicOS 9 out of the box. In terms of lenses, the affordable smartphone has a 50 MP primary camera and a 5 MP selfie shooter.
Speaking of battery capacity, the Play 80 Pro boasts a large 7,000 mAh battery. Furthermore, it is also IP65-rated, meaning it can easily withstand normal water splashes and dust. As for price, the Honor Play 80 Pro starts at CNY 1,899 ($275) for the base 6 GB + 256 GB variant, while the 8 GB + 256 GB and the 12 GB + 256 GB models are priced at CNY 2,099 ($304) and CNY 2,299 ($333), respectively. Interested buyers can choose from sky blue, moon shadow, and dark night color options.
