Tecno set to launch Spark 50 5G smartphone on March 27 with Pixel 10-inspired design

Tecno has set the date. Friday, March 27, 12 PM IST—the company will debut a new 5G smartphone in India. The teaser page of the Spark 50 5G is already live on Amazon India, revealing key features of the smartphone ahead of the official launch. What’s interesting is that the device features a Pixel 10-inspired (curr. at $549 on Amazon) rear design. Unlike other smartphones with vertical camera modules, the device has a 6-series aluminum-made horizontal camera island.
However, the teaser hasn’t revealed the exact camera specifications. What we know is that the smartphone has MIL-STD-810H certification and can survive a drop from 1.5 meters. Besides, it is said to be equipped with a large 6,500 mAh battery with support for 45 W wired charging. In comparison, the Spark 40 had a 6,000 mAh battery and only 18 W wired charging. This time around, Tecno significantly improved the battery department.
Furthermore, there’s no word on its processor and display. The teaser page mostly focuses on connectivity features. The smartphone will get 4 x 4 MIMO support, which is said to offer 82% faster downloads. Additionally, it will also feature UPS 3.0 technology, and according to the brand, it boosts the signal in areas with weak reception.
Speaking about the frame, Tecno hasn’t yet confirmed the frame material. The smartphone will be available in four color options, including ink black, champagne gold, fantasy purple, and mint green. As for price, there are no price details for the Spark 50 yet. That means we have to wait until Friday for detailed specifications and price information.
