Honor's X70 Refresh Edition is the X70 with a new color and newer software

Just as Xiaomi has chosen to launch a special edition of the Redmi Note 15 5G, Honor has followed suit with a refresh of the Honor X70. However, this isn't a version of the Honor X70 with a bigger battery or a new camera sensor. As a matter of fact, if you think the Google Pixel 10a (available on Amazon for $499) is pointless, the Honor X70 Refresh Edition takes the cake.

The Honor X70 Reresh Edition has almost the same specifications as the Honor X70 released, save for one tiny difference — the software. Unlike the Honor X70 which launched with MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, the Honor X70 Refresh Edition ships with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, which is available as a software update for the Honor X70.

In addition to the newer software, the Honor X70 Refresh Edition comes in a new Sunrise Gold color alongside the other four colors the Honor X70 is available in. Save for these two differences, the Honor X70 Refresh Edition is no different from the X70 released last July.

The Honor X70 Refresh Edition has a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a 2640 x 1200 resolution. The 120Hz display has a peak brightness of 6,000 nits and bezels that are just 1.3mm thick. Powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, it comes in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants with up to 512GB of storage.

There is a 50MP f/1.8 camera with OIS on the back while an 8MP f/2.0 camera is in front for selfies and video calls. The X70 Refresh Edition also has an 8300mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging. However, if you purchase the highest configuration (12GB RAM + 512GB), you also get support for 80W fast wireless charging.

The rest of the specs include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual SIM support, an IR blaster, fingerprint scanner, and triple dust and water resistance ratings (IP66, IP68, and IP69K). The phone also has a one-click dust and water ejection feature, glove mode, and support for touch input even under heavy rain.

The Honor X70 Refresh Edition is available to buy now in China. Pricing starts at ¥1699 (~$247/€214) for the 8GB + 128GB version and it goes up to ¥1899 (~$276/€239) for the 8GB +256GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB version costs ¥2099 (~$305/€265) while the 12GB + 512GB variant is ¥2399 (~$349/€303).
