Casio’s new tank-style watches deliver classic looks without breaking the bank

Nearly a year after their European debut, Casio is finally bringing two classic tank-style analog watches to the US market. The Casio MTP-B190D-7BV and MTP-B190D-1BV are proud additions to the company’s Timeless Collection. Both models feature premium stainless steel bracelets and beautifully prominent Roman numerals that instantly draw the eye.
These two watches are virtually identical in their physical construction, save for the contrast of their dial colors. The B190D-7BV features a crisp white dial paired with stark black hands and numerals. Meanwhile, the 1BV boasts a deep black dial highlighted by elegant silver-toned accents.
Looking closely at their visual design, the tank-style case features subtle stepped edges that give it a refined presence on the wrist, while elongated Roman numerals stretch elegantly toward the center of the dial and enhance readability. Paired with a retro-inspired, multi-link stainless steel bracelet, the overall aesthetic feels highly sophisticated.
You’re getting a straightforward quartz movement with three-hand timekeeping and an accuracy of ±20 seconds per month. There’s also 50 meters of water resistance—more than enough for daily use but not something you’d take swimming. Battery life is rated for three years.
If you want a much more feature-packed and rugged timepiece, you will easily find plenty of G-Shocks under $100 that will look much more exciting. But if you are looking for something incredibly versatile that will seamlessly go with any outfit and a wide variety of settings, this is a fantastic dress watch.
