WhatsApp's new feature improves call quality, but it is still in beta

WhatsApp has been getting regular updates that not only fix bugs, but add a lot of useful features, too. In March, it got updated with a feature that allows iOS users to have two accounts on the same phone. It also added a chat transfer feature that makes it easy to move chat history from iOS to Android. Now, a new feature is coming that should make calls clearer.
According to Wabetainfo, a new update for WhatsApp beta users on Android brings support for noise cancellation when on a voice or video call. The feature, when enabled, will automatically filter out background noise, thus resulting in improved call quality.
The update arrives as version 2.26.14.1 and is available to a select number of beta users on Android. Wabeta says the feature is enabled by default, but a screenshot shared by the publication shows there's a toggle to turn it off. It is also stated that if the feature is enabled by the caller, it is the receiver that gets the benefit. It is therefore advised that both the caller and receiver have noise cancellation enabled for the best experience.
It is not clear how long this feature will remain in beta before it is rolled out to everyone. However, we can expect an official announcement from WhatsApp when this happens.
