WhatsApp gets AI responses, but also useful new features

Meta has started to distribute a new update for WhatsApp on all platforms. The update introduces two new AI features in particular. Firstly, Meta's "Writing Help" feature can now generate and suggest the entire answer, so that conversations with supposed humans should feel even more like conversations with ChatGPT in the future.
If photos are to be edited with artificial intelligence before they are sent, it is no longer necessary to switch to another app. WhatsApp now allows you to edit photos directly before sending them using Meta AI, for example to remove other bathers from a beach photo or to adjust the style of a photo.
While such AI features can make WhatsApp messages increasingly less trustworthy, as neither text nor images need to reflect the reality of the person you are talking to, the update does introduce a few practical innovations. WhatsApp users on an Apple iPhone 17 ($794 on Amazon) and older iPhones can finally manage two accounts on one smartphone, for example to receive messages for work and private life on the same device.
Saving storage space is easier as the storage of each chat can be managed individually to make it easier to find and delete large files. All chat histories can now be transferred from an iPhone to an Android smartphone to make the transition easier. When searching for an emoji, WhatsApp can now also suggest matching stickers.
