OnePlus helped to popularize cutting-edge silicon-carbon (SiC) tech for extra-high-capacity smartphone batteries with the Ace 5, a predecessor of the brand's current 6,000mAh flagship.
That spec is projected to rise to 7,000mAh if not 7,500mAh in some subsequent handsets by the end of the year as SiC tech advances.
OnePlus' parent company Oppo has already blown past that rumored target with its latest prototype battery, though, according to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station.
It is said to make a significant capacity upgrade due to a silicon content boosted to 15%, as opposed to 6% in the 6,100mAh Ace 5.
The OEM's breakthrough might allow it to market a next-gen device such as the successor to the Find X8 Pro (or Ultra) as its first 8,000mAh smartphone.
Despite its battery's monstrous size, the "Find X9-" (or "X10-") series flagship might still be able to handle the X8 Pro's 80W SuperVOOC wired charging.
It would be interesting to see if it can also support Oppo's 50W AirVOOC Magnetic Wireless Charging, should this new leak pan out.
