MetaMech releases new 16-inch gaming laptop with OCuLink and up to 96 GB VRAM

2026 appears to be the year when more OEMs adopt AMD's powerful Strix Halo platform in high-end laptops. In 2025, the ROG Flow Z13 was the main proponent of the Ryzen AI Max 390 and the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (curr. $2,069 on Amazon). Now, Asus offers the latter APU inside a new ProArt PX13.
At the same time, the Strix Halo also underpins gaming laptops like the TUF Gaming A14 FA401EA and the Legion 7a 15ASH11. While those are 14-inch and 15-inch laptops, respectively, the new Xuanpai Xuanji 16 2026 or MetaMech 16 2026 puts Strix Halo to work inside a 16-inch chassis.
Specifically, the laptop combines the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with a 2.5K IPS display that outputs at 180 Hz and a 99 Wh battery. Moreover, the MetaMech 16 2026 features 128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 2 TB of storage. Hence, the laptop should be able to assign up to 96 GB of VRAM to its Radeon 8060S iGPU.
Surprisingly, the laptop offers OCuLink eGPU expansion too that has escaped all but the FEVM FA-EX9 of the Strix Halo devices released so far. The MetaMech 16 2026 retails for CNY 22,999 (~$3,365) in China. At this stage, it seems unclear whether the laptop will be available globally.
