Asus releases 16-inch lightweight laptop in the US with 120 Hz OLED display

The new Zenbook S16 is now available in North America after debuting three months ago at CES 2026. Sold in certain markets since late January, this year's Zenbook S16 departs from its predecessor in a few areas.
Notably, the new model features a 6% larger battery that now totals 83 Wh. Additionally, Asus offers this year's release with the Ryzen AI 7 445 or Ryzen AI 9 465 from AMD's Gorgon Point family. According to our benchmarks, the older Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 model should superior CPU and GPU performance over both these variants. Likewise, there is little performance benefit between Ryzen AI 9 465 and Ryzen AI 9 365 variants (curr. $1,145 on Amazon).
A 120 Hz AMOLED display returns within a package weighing around 1.5 kg. Also, both North American SKUs combine 32 GB of RAM with 1 TB of storage. A Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 variant should be available at some stage. While shown on Asus' US website, the company has not confirmed when this more powerful variant will be added.
Currently, the Ryzen AI 9 465 variant is the cheaper of the two at $1,899, having briefly been priced at $1,999. For some reason, Asus has priced the weaker Ryzen AI 7 445 variant at $1,999. Please see our Zenbook S16 review for full details about the Ryzen AI 9 465 version of Asus' latest 16-inch laptop.
