Pebblebee has announced a new device that is the first of a new product category. Called the Halo, it is described as a safety device with a siren, strobe light, and live notification alert. It also doubles as an item finder.

While most item finders a.k.a. Bluetooth trackers are shaped like a pebble or a credit card, the new Pebblebee Halo looks like an action camera. Pebblebee actually describes it as a personal safety device first and an item finder second.

The Pebblebee Halo can help deter threats or call for help as it has a built-in siren and strobe lights. The 130dB siren and strobe lights are activated by pulling apart the lower portion of the device. Once activated, the companion app shares your live location with your trusted contacts (up to 5) via SMS. It also has a silent alert mode that lets a user notify a trusted contact(s) without activating the siren and strobe lights.

Pebblebee says the Halo can also be used as an everyday carry flashlight. Designed to work with both Google Find Hub and Apple Find My like the Pebblebee Clip 5 (available on Amazon for $34.99), the Halo has a rechargeable battery that should last up to 12 months on a single charge. It can be attached to a keychain, worn, or placed in a bag or purse. It also has an IP66 dust and water resistance rating.

Priced at $59.99, the Pebblebee Halo is available to buy now from the manufacturer's website. Buyers can score a 15% discount and get a free gift if they buy two units. You can also get a free unit if you purchase three.

Each Halo device includes a keyring carabiner and a free 12-month subscription to Pebblebee's Alert Live (live location) service that is worth $24.99. And if you lose the Halo, there's a code on the back that can be scanned to make it easy to return.
