Loewe launches 97-inch OLED flagship as its largest smart TV yet
German luxury home entertainment brand Loewe recently expanded its smart TV lineup with its largest model to date. As the name suggests, the Loewe stellar 97 features a colossal 97-inch OLED panel and is now available for purchase following its initial announcement last year.
At the heart of the stellar 97 is a new open-cell W-OLED panel from LG Display. Like most OLED panels, it delivers perfect contrast and deep blacks, along with impressive brightness levels for this display technology. With Dolby Vision IQ Precision Detail and factory calibration, Loewe promises colour reproduction that faithfully reflects a director’s vision. According to the company, the smart TV also meets all relevant visual and colour standards.
The stellar 97 runs on the new Loewe os9, based on Vidaa U9. The operating system supports network features such as Miracast and Apple AirPlay, and provides access to a wide range of apps (some of which come preinstalled). Gamers can look forward to the new Vidaa Cloud Gaming Zone as well as support for similar services like Blacknut and Boosteroid.
Manufactured at Loewe’s headquarters in Kronach, Germany, the stellar 97 is marketed as a “craft design” TV, combining premium aesthetics with high-quality materials. It features a brushed aluminium frame and an aluminium back cover. The built-in wall mount allows the TV to be installed nearly flush against a wall, whilst VESA screw holes are also available as an option.
However, all these premium features do come at a steep price. The Loewe stellar 97 dr+ carries a recommended retail price of €29,999 (US$35,333) and will be available from selected specialist retailers starting this month. Pricing for the US has yet to be revealed.
