Lenovo's second-gen Legion Glasses arrives with an improved design. The Legion Glasses 2 are also lighter, have a brighter display with a wider field of view, but cost more.

When Lenovo announced the Legion Go in 2023, it also launched the Legion Glasses, a pair of AR glasses you can plug into the handheld for a large screen experience. More than a year later, it has announced a successor along with its new lineup of Legion gaming devices.

Lenovo has adopted a new design for the Legion Glasses 2. Unlike its predecessor which look like a pair of rimmed sunglasses, the Legion Glasses 2 have a design similar to rimless aviator sunglasses. They sure are better-looking, but it leaves one worried about durability.

The temples are still quite thick, which isn't surprising. However, they too have been redesigned as they now have silver metal-like hinges. They glasses are also lighter at 65 grams, compared to the Legion Glasses which weigh 96 grams. The reduced weight should make them more comfortable to wear for longer periods.

The Legion Glasses 2 not only look better on the outside but have also gotten some internal upgrades. They still use Micro-OLED displays with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 per eye, but the contrast ratio has been upped from 50,000:1 to 200,000:1. The refresh rate can also go up to 120Hz (60, 90, 120Hz) whereas the first generation maxed out at 60Hz. The displays are also brighter now, reaching up to 800 nits, a significant upgrade over the 270 nits of the 2023 model.

Lenovo also says the new AR glasses have a 43.5-degree field of view, which is equal to watching a 126-inch display at 4 meters. The Legion Glasses 2 have dual built-in speakers and dual microphones. The glasses have three physical buttons and connect via USB-C to devices with support for DP Alt mode such as gaming handhelds like the Legion Go S.

The Legion Glasses 2 will be available in February 2025 with a $399.99 price tag, making them more expensive than the $329.99 Legion Glasses. Considering the significant upgrades, the price increase seem justified. The glasses will ship with an adjustable nose pad, a prescription lens frame, light shield, and a carrying case.
