In addition to the new Legion Go S gaming handheld, Lenovo has also announced a new Legion gaming tablet at CES 2025. The Legion Tab Gen 3 appears to be the global version of the Legion Y700 released in China in September 2024.
The Legion Tab Gen 3 is an Android gaming tablet with an 8.8-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600) display. The screen has a 165Hz refresh rate, a 144Hz touch sampling rate, and support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the same processor inside the OnePlus Pad 2 (available on Amazon for $549.99).
Lenovo will ship the tablet with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, although the Chinese variant is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. While taking pictures isn't the function of a tablet like this, the Legion Tab Gen 3 still manages to have decent sensors - on the front is an 8MP camera while the back houses a 13MP camera.
To keep the device cool during gaming sessions, Lenovo has equipped the Legion Tab Gen 3 with a Legion Coldfront Vapor Chamber that's 14% larger than that of its predecessor. There's a 6,550mAh battery inside the tablet, and it comes bundled with a 45W charger. The Chinese variant supports 68W fast charging.
The tablet has two ports, allowing users to charge and also connect accessories simultaneously. Both ports also have support for bypass charging, allowing the device to draw power directly from the charger. The Legion Tab Gen 3 also has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and dual microphones. Unfortunately, it lacks an audio jack.
The Legion Tab Gen 3 ships with Android 14 out of the box. It comes in a single color option called Eclipse Black, and will cost $499.99 when it becomes available to buy later this month.
