Boox has now officially released the Note Max after an apparent soft launch at the start of the month. To recap, the Note Max utilises a Carta 1300 E Ink display that outputs at 3,200 x 2,400 pixels for 300 PPI pixel density across a 13.3-inch surface. Additionally, the tablet supports 4,096 pressure levels for use with a bundled active stylus.
The Note Max runs Android 13, which Boox has pre-installed on 128 GB of storage aided by 6 GB of RAM, an octa-core chipset and a 3,700 mAh battery. For reference, Boox has crammed all this hardware into a 4.6 mm thick chassis that weighs 615 g before factoring in any accessories like a protective cover. The tablet can read countless document formats too and supports third-party apps via access to the Google Play Store.
Like the reMarkable 2 (curr. $569 on Amazon), the Boox Note Max supports a keyboard accessory that transforms it into a productivity device. However, it does so with a larger display and a keyboard accessory that contains a built-in trackpad. Please note that Boox sells the latter as a $149.99 optional accessory and does not bundle it with the Note Max itself. Instead, Boox charges $649.99 for the Note Max, which can be picked up on Amazon and the Boox website directly.
