2024 OnePlus Pad launches as affordable tablet with a new MediaTek SoC

Oppo recently released the Pad 3, which launched as the first Android tablet with the Dimensity 8350. At the core, this MediaTek SoC is a slightly improved version of the Dimensity 8300. Of course, this eight-core processor, as per the company, comes with the new gaming-focused StarSpeed Engine, which aims to bring 10 % better power efficiency and 24 % improvement in scene transition speed.

Now, this Oppo tablet just got rebranded as the 2024 OnePlus Pad. All the core specs remain the same. That means OnePlus's new offering is only 6.29 mm thick and weighs about 533 grams. This lightweight and slim form factor makes it travel-friendly.

On the front, the new OnePlus Pad comes with an 11.61-inch LCD screen with a rated peak brightness of 700 nits, 144 Hz refresh rate, and wide DCI-P3 color coverage. As for the back, the design remains pretty much the same as the last-gen model, with a circular camera island that houses an 8 MP sensor.

Another highlight of the 2024 OnePlus Pad is the battery. It packs a 9,520 mAh cell that supports 67-watt fast charging (140-watt Anker 737 curr. $106.48 on Amazon). The company claims that it allows the tablet to offer up to 16 hours of video playback with a full charge. Software-wise, it runs on ColorOS 15, which is based on Android 15, but the global variant could run on OxygenOS 15.

Other highlights of the new OnePlus Pad include stylus support, an 8 MP selfie camera, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. The starting launch price of the tablet in China is CNY 1,999 (around $273). There's no word on the global launch yet, but it could make an international debut soon, possibly at the OnePlus 13 series global launch event.
