OnePlus has recently confirmed the global launch date of its new Snapdragon 8 Elite phone, the OnePlus 13. In the announcement, the company hinted that a new sub-flagship device would join this flagship smartphone, and now, a promo page has confirmed that the 13R will indeed launch on the same date.
To be specific, the OnePlus 13R is going global on January 7, and it's expected to be a rebrand of the Ace 5. In case you missed it, this Chinese variant also recently got its release date revealed. The sub-flagship will make its China debut on December 26.
Besides the launch date, the Chinese announcement has revealed the color options of the OnePlus 13R. In China, this new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone will be available in cyan, black, and titanium colorways. As for the global variant, the Amazon promo page only shows black and titanium options.
That means the cyan color variant could stay China-exclusive. This color option of the Ace 5 is different than the other two because it features a ceramic back instead of glass. Of course, this isn't anything new for Chinese smartphones. The global OnePlus 12R also had a missing colorway that was available in the Chinese market.
Other than that, the Amazon promo page has confirmed a large 6,000 mAh battery and a flat display. There's no word on the starting price of the OnePlus 13R yet, but the predecessor launched at $499.99. Both the upcoming phones are expected to see a slight price bump (128 GB Pixel 9 Pro XL curr. $849 on Amazon).
