The Lenovo Legion 7 is a great replacement for a desktop if you plan to work on the go. Especially if you’re a professional that needs this much power when you are traveling, it is a great device with minimal compromises. It’s definitely not the cheapest laptop around, but what you get is something that really checks a lot of boxes for most people. A great screen for both gaming and productivity, a really powerful CPU and GPU combo that just shreds through everything you throw at it, and in a package that screams sophistication. If you said I could find a laptop like this years ago I never would have believed you, but alas, here we are in 2022, with a laptop like the Lenovo Legion 7. Never would I have thought that a laptop this small could be so good.

The Lenovo Legion 7 went above and beyond our expectations. The CPU, RAM and GPU configuration in this notebook leaves very little on the table as regards performance and it’s more than capable of handling the latest AAA game developers have to offer. We would’ve liked cooling to be more effective especially during these summer months and we hope that Lenovo addresses its cooling in future Legion notebooks. With that having been said, the performance and build quality are superb and we can easily recommend this notebook for anybody looking for a portable high-end gaming machine. The Lenovo Legion 7 retails for R49 999 (RRP) which is rather expensive, but considering that many gaming notebooks at this price point only sport an NVIDIA RTX 3070, this is a tempting offer.

Lenovo's flagship 16-inch gaming laptop comes in both Intel and AMD flavors. The Intel version tested in October 2021—the Legion 7i Gen 6—is a real barn-burner, producing some of the best gaming benchmarks we've seen from any notebook. The AMD-powered Legion 7 Gen 6 (minus the i) reviewed here isn't quite as fast and misses out on Nvidia G-Sync and Thunderbolt 4 without colossal cost savings—it starts at the same $1,439, though at $2,649 our test configuration is some $600 under the 7i we tested. But it's still an exceptional performer, and more than doubles the Intel laptop's battery life to ultimately be the more practical of the two. The Legion 7 Gen 6 claims our Editors' Choice award among deluxe 16-inch gaming laptops. The Intel version of Lenovo's deluxe 16-inch gaming laptop is richer in features, but this AMD Ryzen-based Legion is an excellent performer that gets much better battery life.

The Lenovo Legion 7 is mighty to play on by all means. For ₹2.4 lakh, you are getting some serious power here, which is great if you want a machine to play the latest AAA titles at the highest of settings without compromising on resolution and frame rates. Paired with the practical ergonomics and a good keyboard, the Legion 7 also works as a great desktop replacement for power users. And that RGB lightshow does liven up the mood. That said, the Legion 7 could have done with better speakers. And since you are paying a fortune, there’s no shame in asking for a fancy design that stands out from another cheaper Lenovo Legion variant costing less than ₹70,000. A similarly priced Alienware or HP Omen machine looks ungodly in comparison, the Legion 7 pales out. On the whole, the Lenovo Legion 7 is offering a lot of specs and a superb performance for the price it sells. If you are looking for a super powerful portable desktop replacement, or just a beastly gaming laptop, we recommend checking out the Legion 7.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has plenty of great things going for it as we saw from our review, based on the variant they sent for the Philippines. It’s rather thin for a gaming laptop, and its processor/GPU combo makes it ideal for creators who want a powerful editing machine that they can take on the go. It is quite pricey though, but with the GPU shortage being what it is, its higher price is understandable.

All in all, the Lenovo Legion 7 is, without a doubt, one of the best laptops on the market right now, especially for gaming. There are nitpicks, sure, but I don’t see any of them being a dealbreaker. If you like flashy lights and want the absolute best performance out of an AMD-based laptop, then the Legion 7 is the best you can do. Even the base variant with a Ryzen 7 5800H and $1,799 price tag is a great option to consider if you don’t want to burn a huge hole in your pocket with a decked-out unit. You’ll still get a fantastic laptop with a165Hz QHD+ IPS display, impressive battery life, and commendable build quality. In India, the Lenovo Legion 7 starts at ₹239,990. Alternatively, you may also find the MSI GE66 Raider more appealing if you want an Intel-based laptop. If you don’t fit in the target demographic of these full-sized gaming laptops, then you can check out our collection of the best gaming laptops to find some other solid options. You can also lookup our best Lenovo laptop collection to see if some other notebooks fit your use case.

The AMD version of the Lenovo Legion 7 is very much identical to the Intel model tested a few weeks ago. The AMD R9 hardware is not as powerful as the current Intel i9 and this AMD configuration lacks a few perks that are Intel exclusive at this point, such as very fast gen4 storage or Thunderbolt 4, but at the same time, this AMD Legion 7 variant is significantly more efficient on battery and a fair bit more affordable than the Intel model. So while you're not going wrong with either one, unless you need that fast CPU performance, the AMD Legion 7 is the arguably better-balanced option here.

As with all 2021 devices, the Lenovo Legion 7 does live up well in getting the most out of its RTX 3080. However, in order to do so makes this device more of a desktop replacement as compared to a laptop with its tethered power brick.

The Lenovo Legion 7i blew the doors off our gaming tests with its high-powered Core i9 and GeForce RTX 3080. Coupled with its excellent G-Sync screen, it delivers one of the smoothest gaming experiences around. In fact, the Legion 7i excels in just about every area except for its fan noise and battery life, and it's mainly the latter's fault that our recommendation for a high-performance 15- to 16-inch gamer still goes to the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5. But if peak performance is your calling card, the Legion 7i stands as one of the fastest rides you can buy.

I’m very pleased with this 2021 Lenovo Legion 7i. The Legion 5 Pro already checked all my boxes, but this is a significant improvement from even that, which makes it worth the little extra for matching configurations. The performance is among the best you can get on any laptop right now, and I like the keyboard on this series, the all-metal build and the fact the screen goes all the way back. Add in the 16” QHD+ screen, and it leaves very little else to complain about. All except for the battery life, that is, especially on this Intel-based model.

If you’re just looking for a powerful laptop, this is it. For photo and video editing, it’s fantastic. It has a beautiful design that looks cool for gaming, but it’s subtle enough to take into work. It’s also light enough to carry in a backpack at over four pounds. And frankly, if you need more than what’s offered by the Legion 7 Slim, you probably know it already.

What is even better is the cooling solution. Indeed, thin and light devices have problems with their thermal management. And the solution to that is the vapor chamber. Lenovo has played its cards well and carried on what they introduced last year. At the end of the day, we don’t really know if it will handle the 165W version of the RTX 3080, but with some undervolting everything is possible. Especially when the foundations have been laid.

The Lenovo Legion 7 is an excellent gaming laptop that combines power with versatility. It has a highly customisable LED light array, but looks sensible when you switch the flashy nonsense off. And its 180-degree tilting screen may also be useful in a work setting. What impressed us most was how Lenovo has maxed-out the performance of the Nvidia RTX 3080 in such a confident and effortless way. We expected the Legion 7 to get louder, and considering it has a metal shell not hugely thick for this class, heat management is sound. For sheer bang for your buck, the Legion 5 Pro with RTX 3070 graphics is probably a better buy. Its speakers are worse and the plastic touchpad isn't as slick as the Legion 7's glass one. But we prefer its deeper keyboard. However, if you'll appreciate the ways Lenovo has added touches that cater for gaming enhancement and you need the power of the RTX 3080, the Legion 7 is a smash hit.

Power, looks, build quality, display, sound system and keyboard – the Legion 7 excels in all those areas, leaving me scratching around in the dirt like a bored chicken for faults. The less than stellar battery life and lack of a fingerprint scanner certainly aren’t ideal, but to top it all at less than two grand, the Legion 7 is excellent value, giving gaming notebooks costing much more a proper run for their money. I’ve never wanted to return a review device less.

The Lenovo Legion 7i has a lot going for it, from its incredible performance and long battery life to its gorgeous display and design. However, it’s not perfect, and one of its flaws is hard to ignore considering you’ll be constantly using it (the keyboard). If you want to save some money and get a better keyboard, consider the Acer Predator Helios 300 (2021). However, you’d be sacrificing a better display and longer battery life. Keyboard aside, the Lenovo Legion 7i is a great gaming laptop, and you’ll be hard pressed to find another with as powerful performance and as bright and vivid of a display under $2,000.

This is the top of the line for Lenovo’s crowded Legion gaming laptop line. The 16” QHD+ Lenovo Legion 7 Gen 6 is available with your choice of Intel 11th gen or AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs with NVIDIA RTX 3060, 3070 and 3080 dedicated graphics (full wattage, not Max-Q). We look at the Intel version that brings Thunderbolt 4 and PCIe4 faster SSDs to the table. The fairly priced Legion 7 starts at $1,440 and it has a metal chassis with lots of programmable RGB lighting along all perimeters, a per key RGB keyboard and better than average speakers. The laptop has vapor chamber cooling for better thermals and performance.

Both Legion 7s should be available in stores in the next few months. In North America, the AMD-based Legion 7 starts at just over $2000 MSRP, while the Intel-based Legion 7i starts at under $2500 for the RTX 3070Ti model. As expected, there’s a significant price gap between the two, but Lenovo tend to offer aggressive discounts from their list prices, so the situation might change as the products age. I’m looking forward to reviewing the 2022 Lenovo Legion 7i and Legion 7 lineups and sharing our findings with you, as well as figuring out how these fare against the competitors in the stratosphere of uncompromised performance laptops, such as the Asus ROG Scars, the Acer Predator Helios 500, the Alienware X15/X17 or the MSI GE66/GE76 Raider models.

The Lenovo Legion 7 16 offers everything that gamers desire. In addition to the fastest mobile processor from Intel, there is also the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and a fast 165 Hz display. The cooling system also manages to keep the hardware cool, but at 4,499 Euros (~US$ 4,500), the high-end gamer is by no means a bargain.

There’s only a handful of laptops of the same specs sheet and similar form factor in the same space as the Legion 7i 2022 and many of them exhibit the same behavior so ultimately, the decision will boil down to your personal preference. In the case of the Legion 7i 2022, there is the 3-year Premium Care warranty as well as the Accidental Damage Protection which is also served on top of Microsoft Office. This does sweeten the deal to the point that its really hard to justify going for another brand especially if you’re trying to max out your purchase. The Legion 7i 2022 is available now in the Philippines. I hope you found our Lenovo Legion 7i review useful. The Lenovo Legion 7i gaming laptop is a powerful and stylish machine that will easily handle any game you throw at it. In the build we tested, Lenovo included an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU and Intel Core i9 CPU, providing excellent performance for gaming and content creation. It also features a beautiful 16″ WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display and customizable LED lighting, making it a fantastic choice for gamers who want both style and power. So if you’re looking for a gaming laptop that delivers maximum performance, check out Lenovo’s Legion 7i. If I had to reduce my opinion to a single phrase, I would say that the Legion 7i is pure joy whether you want to use it for games or as a content creator. 5 stars for this beast in my books.

As is the case with all top-end gaming laptops, the Lenovo Legion7i is the epitome of power, performance, and to a lesser extent, portability. I say lesser because despite being just 15.6-inches in size, it still leans towards the side of heavy at 2.5kg. Of course, that doesn’t change the fact that this is a laptop of unbridled power with a pretty severe issue of battery endurance. Naturally, there are some drawbacks to the Lenovo Legion 7i, one of which is the heat and noise generated by it when put to the task. Well, that and the fact that this highest-range SKU basically retails for just a little over RM15000. To be fair, though, that is more or less the typical retail cost for a gaming laptop of this calibre, and as our benchmarks show, you won’t be left wanting or craving for something more powerful. At least, that is until the next best thing comes along, but that’s unlikely to happen for the next several years. So, if you think your wallet can handle the blow and you’re ready to take the leap with Lenovo, then this laptop might as well have your name on it.

The Legion 7i Gen 7 is a solid technology refresh and retains everything we liked about the Gen 6 model, from its snazzy RGB lighting and comfortable input devices to its fabulous screen and ample connectivity. Its new Intel Core HX-class processor vaults its performance to another level, and like its predecessor at review time, it’s one of the very fastest gaming laptops we’ve tested. This laptop's only real downsides are ones you might accept for this level of performance: somewhat overreactive fans (at least for general use) and short battery life. The battery is the main reason we recommend the AMD version of this laptop, the Legion 7 Gen 7, as our Editors' Choice winner among 16-inch gaming machines. However, do not overlook the Legion 7i Gen 7 if battery isn’t a priority and you want every bit of performance that can be had without jumping up to the jumbo-sized MSI GT77 Titan.

If you're in the market for a premium-feeling powerful laptop that can handle everything that you can possibly throw at it, the 2022 Lenovo Legion 7i remains one of the best options for you. The pristine build quality and aesthetics, the good inputs, ergonomics and IO, the 16:10 display, and the overall balanced capabilities with demanding loads are the main selling points of this series. At the same time, there are some other aspects that you must accept before going with this one, especially concerning the temperatures under load and battery life.

The Legion 7 Gen 7 rocks expectations for a high-end gaming laptop, backing excellent gaming performance with practicality. The laptop's screen has all the technology to make gaming enjoyable, and there are enough RGB lights built into the chassis to remake Saturday Night Fever. Long battery life makes it more well-rounded than the Intel version of this laptop, the Legion 7i Gen 7. Provided portability isn't at the top of your list—the Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model (2022) is hard to beat for that, though you’ll take a performance hit—the Legion 7 Gen 7 is a home run for Lenovo and AMD, and it earns our Editors' Choice award among high-end 16-inch gaming laptops.

So, ladies and gentlemen, today you have witnessed the laptop embodiment of the Hulk. It looks sleek, if not smart – has a fantastic build quality, and to be frank, not many people would suggest that you are an owner of a gaming device. Unless you turn it on. Unless… you put it in Extreme Performance mode. On the bright side, you get two SODIMM slots for DDR5 RAM, as well as two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for Gen 4 SSDs. This will make your laptop blazingly quick. On top of that, the keyboard of this machine is absolutely incredible. Its feedback is long, and the feedback is clicky. In fact, it is pretty similar to what a mechanical keyboard feels like. The company has even provided some spare key caps and scissor mechanisms, plus a tool that will help you change them yourself. And here is where the big question arises. Should you rely on AMD for both your CPU and GPU? Truth be told, Intel wiped the floor with Team Red, thanks to their (Intel’s) 12th Gen processors. Also, AMD has a poor record of driver adequacy, although we had no issues with ours.
