Reviews for the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025)
Visually, the MatePad Pro 13.2 has hardly changed compared to its predecessor, but it now also uses a fully-fledged PaperMatte display, reducing reflections to a minimum. During our test, it was additionally revealed to have a faster processor, while struggling with the same old problems.

So, for £849.99 you get a rather beautiful 13.2in tablet with a lot of useful features. The keyboard and stylus need to be purchased separately, which is good because not all will like the former. As always, there is a software sacrifice to make with Huawei, it really does test how much you love your familiar US-made services. You can get some Google apps through emulators, but it's an extra faff you don't need. For creative workloads like illustration, it is up there with the best thanks to its intuitive M-Pen and feature-loaded GoPaint app.

One of the biggest hurdles to overcome is the lack of Google, as ever. At the risk of sounding like a broken record (still better than sounding like Ed Sheeran), there's no Play Store so it's APKs or hackaboutery all the way. The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 makes up for it in other areas, however. Unlike the best Android tablets, this 13-inch slate has a PaperMatte screen which is ideal for outdoors visibility. Factor in the crisp resolution, powerful sperakers and respectable storage and the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 is an entertainment powerhouse. Battery life is also top, to enhance that portability, while the NearLink Smart Magnetic Keyboard is an excellent accessory. Of course, it's not all good news. There's no eSIM support, or expandable storage. And I did experience a few little issues, like the overly sensitive screen - it's too easy for your thumbs to bork things up. But the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 PaperMatte is still a great tablet, if you can overcome these difficulties.

Huawei makes great tablets - the slightly matte screen on this one is great to read from and draw on. As a useful package, it comes with accessories you'll want to buy anyway. Sadly, its software lets it down as its app service is just not as instant as other app stores. However, it is improving, and with a stylus response and screen quality like this one, you might love it for drawing and digital art (if you can find the right apps).

If you're in the market for a high-performance tablet that balances work and play, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2" is worth considering. It delivers PC-level productivity, making it a great alternative to a laptop, especially for those who are always on the move. To make the deal even sweeter, HUAWEI is offering RM2,744 worth of freebies for early buyers from now till 14 March 2025. With a HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard, HUAWEI M-Pencil 3rd Gen, HUAWEI Mouse, Sound Joy speaker, and PC-level WPS Office suite included, you're getting an incredible value for RM4999.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 PaperMatte is a strong challenger in the oversized tablet space. With a massive display and great audio in a unique and likable design, the MatePad Pro 13.2 PaperMatte has that special sauce that makes it a noteworthy option. This is doubly true for users on the lookout for a large tablet, and especially those who'll be doing a lot of hand-writing or drawing. However, the added size makes it less portable than usual for a tablet, and the software limitations remain a key consideration. If you’d like a matte display for digital art, note-taking, or outdoor use, and can work your way around the software roadblocks, the MatePad Pro 13.2 PaperMatte is a great option to consider.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 is the latest premium tablet from Huawei. It comes with a large, very thin bezelled screen with a matte antireflective texture. I'm also a fan of the keyboard and full PC desktop-like productivity.

Qualcomm Maleoon 920: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets, integrated in the HiSilicon Kirin 9020. Unfortunately, Huawei does not provide any detailed information. What is certain is that it does not support hardware-based ray tracing and only the older Vulkan 1.0 standard.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
