Huawei Pura X Max

Huawei Pura X Max
The Huawei Pura X Max is presented as a large-format foldable smartphone with a 7.7-inch OLED display, Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, and a durable hinge-focused design. Reviews highlight its tablet-like usability, strong screen specifications, water resistance, and app-scaling advantages while noting graphics limitations for demanding gaming.

Pros

+ Massive OLED display
+ Practical cover screen
+ Strong water resistance
+ Solid hinge design
+ Large battery capacity

Cons

- Limited ray tracing
- Older Vulkan support
- Gaming needs lower settings
- HarmonyOS app limitations

The Huawei Pura X Max is a foldable smartphone designed to deliver tablet-like usability in a phone-sized form factor. It features a 7.7-inch OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5.4-inch OLED cover screen for everyday use when folded. The device is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9030 Pro and offers 12GB or 16GB of memory with storage options up to 1TB. Its camera setup includes dual 50MP rear sensors, one with variable aperture and another with 3.5x optical zoom, plus a 12.5MP ultrawide camera. Reviews emphasize its strong app scaling, solid hinge, relatively light 229g weight, Kunlun Glass protection, and IP58/IP59 water and dust resistance. However, the Maleoon 935 graphics solution lacks hardware ray tracing and relies on older Vulkan support, making it better suited to casual gaming or lower settings.

Huawei Pura X Max Specifications, Pros and Con
Source: OI Spice Tech News English
The Huawei Pura X Max is designed for people who want a tablet that folds into a phone. When unfolded, you get a massive 7.7-inch LTPO2 OLED display with vibrant 1 billion colors, a silky 120Hz refresh rate, and sharp 412 pixels per inch. Fold it shut, and you still have a fully usable 5.4-inch cover screen with the same high end specs, protected by Huawei’s tough Kunlun Glass 2. The hinge feels solid, and at 229 grams, it is surprisingly light for a device this large. Plus, it comes with IP58/IP59 dust and water resistance meaning it can survive splashes, high pressure water jets, and even a 30 minute dunk in one meter of water. Yes, you can take this foldable to the poolside without panicking.

Qualcomm Maleoon 935: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets, integrated in the HiSilicon Kirin 9020. Unfortunately, Huawei does not provide any detailed information. What is certain is that it does not support hardware-based ray tracing and only the older Vulkan 1.0 standard.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
