The Honor Magic8 Pro made its European debut in the UK and is expected to be joined by a pared-back variant, the Magic8 Lite. Whilst not yet officially confirmed, an EU release appears to be on the horizon.

The Honor Magic8 Pro and Magic8 Lite have officially made their European debut – more specifically, in the UK. However, this can’t be considered an EU launch since the country is no longer part of the union. In the UK, the Magic8 Pro and Lite are priced at around €1,270 (US$1,482) and €460 (US$537), respectively, after currency conversion. This appears to confirm reports from December regarding the Magic8 Pro’s pricing in Bulgaria, which is likely to apply across the entire EU. The device will reportedly go up for preorder at €1,099 (US$1,283), with its recommended retail price set at €1,299 (US$1,516). German electronics retailer MediaMarkt has already listed the Honor Magic8 Pro at €1,299 (US$1,516). It remains to be seen whether this higher list price will ultimately reflect the street price. An official EU release date has yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, clues provided by Honor suggest that preorders could begin on 15 January.

Honor has furthermore revealed the specifications for the European variants of the Magic8 Pro and Magic8 Lite, confirming that the European Pro model has to settle for a smaller 6,270 mAh battery instead of the 7,200 mAh battery found in its Chinese counterpart. Though equipped with a larger 7,500 mAh battery, the thinner and lighter Honor Magic8 Lite comes with considerably lower-end specifications. For instance, it uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 rather than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Its camera setup has also been heavily downgraded, dropping the 200 MP telephoto lens with 3.7x zoom and optical image stabilisation. The Honor Magic8 Lite is already listed on MediaMarkt’s website alongside the Pro version. Despite the potential drawbacks, importing the Magic8 Pro through retailers like TradingShenzhen might still be worthwhile given its lower price and larger battery.
