More details about Honor's next flagship smartphone have emerged online courtesy of the 3C regulatory body and Digital Chat Station. To recap, Honor only announced the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro last month with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets. Nonetheless, leaks and rumours about a so-called Magic 8 Ultra have been circulating since the summer.
Now, it seems that the same device has surfaced with support for 120 W wired charging to surpass not just the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro but also last December's Magic 7 RSR Porsche Design. By extension, the Magic 8 Ultimate would be capable of drawing over 2.5x the wattage from the wall than other large flagships like the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Pixel 10 Pro XL (curr. $899 on Amazon).
To hit these heights, Honor has certified the Magic 8 Ultra to charge at up to 20V/6A, although the smartphone can also switch to 66 W charging at various wattages and amps when needed. Writing on Weibo, Digital Chat Station adds that the Magic 8 Ultra will support satellite connectivity with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and OmniVision's OV50R sensor as its primary camera. Currently, the Magic 8 Ultra is expected to arrive with a larger battery than the 7,200 mAh cell in the Magic 8 Pro too, but perhaps not before the beginning of 2026 once the Xiaomi 17 Ultra arrives.
