The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is now likely less than a month from receiving an official release. Based on current thinking, Xiaomi will not launch its next flagship globally until early next year. In fact, the company may wait until March before introducing the device globally, just like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 before it (curr. $875 on Amazon).
In the meantime, leaker Kacper Skrzypek may have just provided the first look at the Xiaomi 17 Ultra before Xiaomi's inevitable onslaught of pre-release teasers. Posting on X, Skrzypek merely states that these are images of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit without elaborating further. Nonetheless, a few additional details can be gleaned beyond that Xiaomi will be offering a photography-focused accessory for its next flagship.
On the one hand, it seems that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a slightly more rounded body than its predecessor, albeit with a massive circular camera housing too. On the other hand, only three rear-facing cameras are visible, with a periscope zoom camera dominating proceedings just like on the Vivo X200 Ultra.
Previously, there were suggestions that Xiaomi had developed the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with either three or four rear-facing cameras, with alleged sensor information having emerged for the latter variant. Thus, the authenticity of these images remains unclear at this stage, even with Skrzypek's previously excellent track record.
