OnePlus showcases gaming performance of its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone

OnePlus is set to launch the Ace 6T in China on December 3, 2025, and after its Chinese debut, it will launch globally as the OnePlus 15R on December 17, 2025. If these launch timelines aren't challenged by competitors, it will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone, and the company has now shared how it handles gaming.

As the brand shares, the OnePlus 15R can hold an average of 164.4 FPS during a 3-hour Delta Force benchmark period in the 165 FPS mode. In a popular 5v5 MOBA game, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone is said to offer an average of 119.9 FPS, while a popular open-world game is said to run with an average of 59.9 FPS.

These are some impressive average frame rates, especially given that the OnePlus 15R will be more affordable than the non-R variant. Digital Chat Station analyzed a different set of benchmarks and noted that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in this phone can offer a better gaming experience than Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphones (256 GB OnePlus 13 curr. $699.99 on Amazon).

Of course, the company touts that the "Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel," combined with the co-development with Qualcomm, has made this Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone offer such a level of performance. Whether this is indeed the case can only be verified after the phone and competing smartphones from other brands launch.

Apart from the SoC, the 8,000+ mAh battery is another highlight of the OnePlus Ace 6T. This large capacity will eventually allow users to game for a reasonably long time, but it's unclear whether the same battery will be available in the global 15R. More official details of the phone should emerge in the coming days.
