Rumour has it that Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China next month. Unfortunately, it looks like the device may not arrive internationally until after Samsung replaces the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $899 on Amazon). In the meantime, Digital Chat Station has shed new light on Xiaomi's next flagship before it launches.
On the one hand, the leaker has spotted a certification relating to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra's Photography Kit. Incidentally, this accessory was pictured earlier this week in two colours. Based on the certification document embedded below, the new Photography Kit can recharge the Xiaomi 17 Ultra at 15 W thanks to a built-in battery. In that sense, Digital Chat Station suggests the Photography Kit doubles as a power bank, a feature that Xiaomi already advertises for its current Xiaomi 15 Ultra version.
On the other hand, Digital Chat Station claims that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra leverages OmniVision's OV50X sensor rather than the OVX10500U identified two months ago. Writing on Weibo, the leaker adds that the OV50X will provide over 100 dB of dynamic range with 16 exposure values (EVs) and a 1-inch optical format. While OmniVision launched the OV50X in April, it has not publicly commented on the existence of the OVX10500U yet.
