RedMagic confirms imminent launch of new affordable gaming phone as core specs leak

RedMagic recently launched the 11 Pro series, which brings a rather interesting design to the gaming phone market. The phones from the series feature liquid cooling, and even though the setup is more for aesthetics, it does make the devices stand out.

Of course, as the RedMagic 11 Pro series comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the phones from the lineup are priced in line with some of the other current top-end flagships. For those looking for a more affordable option, a company representative has just announced that the 11 Air will be launching soon.

This news came right after some of the core specs of the upcoming affordable gaming phone surfaced. As shared by Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, the RedMagic 11 Air will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the last-gen flagship SoC that can still deliver decent performance.

More specifically, the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Elite is quite close to what the new, non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 offers. The signature active cooling fan is expected to remain, which generally leads to better overall sustained performance. Digital Chat Station reports that it will feature a large battery, and to look back, the last-gen RedMagic 10 Air comes with a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 80 W fast charging (160 W Anker Prime curr. $115.99 on Amazon).

The Weibo leaker also mentions that the RedMagic 11 Air will feature a full-screen display, with an under-display selfie camera. Other details are still under wraps, but this affordable gaming phone is set to launch in China in January 2026.
