Pixel 10a getting a key upgrade matching the Pixel 10 Pro XL, but also a major downgrade

The Pixel 10a is almost here with pre-orders starting next week, February 18. Ahead of the official launch, there have been quite a lot of leaks and rumors, and pretty much everything about the phone has been revealed, unofficially. A full spec sheet has now surfaced suggesting the phone will get a key upgrade in the battery department that puts it in line with the flagship Pixel 10 Pro XL (buy on Amazon) , but also a major downgrade that might make or break the purchase decision.
The information comes courtesy of Winfuture’s Roland Quandt who compiled a list of specifications for the Pixel 10a. Most of those specs have been revealed previously but what’s notable is the charging speed. The Pixel 10a is said to come with 45W wired fast charging support. That’s significantly faster than the Pixel 9a and even faster than the Pixel 10 Pro, matching the 10 Pro XL. The battery size remains the same as the Pixel 9a, but the much faster charging is a welcome upgrade.
Unfortunately, the rest of the specifications are pretty much the same as the Pixel 9a, most disappointing of which is the Tensor G4 processor rather than the Tensor G5. There were rumors about Google not upgrading to the latest processor for the budget Pixel, and now it looks like that is in fact the case. The screen size and resolution remain the same at 6.3 inches and 2,424 x 1,080 pixels, respectively. Bluetooth has been updated to 6.0 and the weight brought down a bit to 183 grams (186 grams for the Pixel 9a).
Google has revealed the pre-order date for the Pixel 10a but not the availability. More information should be shared next week.
