Last month, Casio unveiled G-Shock DWN5600, a ring-sized version of its classic digital watch, in Japan. Now, Casio America has officially introduced the Nano Ring digital watch to the US market. Like the Japanese market, the timepiece is available in three iconic G-Shock colors, including red (DWN5600-4), yellow (DWN5600-9), and black (DWN5600-1). All three models will be available on December 3rd for $110 each via G-Shock’s official website and other G-Shock authorized retailers.
Speaking about dimensions, the watch is almost one-tenth the size of the original model. It measures just 7.5 mm (0.29 inches) in thickness and weighs around 6 grams (0.21 ounces). Despite its ring-sized design, it retains all G-Shock features and a shock-resistant build from its regular model.
Besides the basic timekeeping, the small digital LCD display shows all essential functions, such as dual time, stopwatch, auto calendar, and a flashing light alarm. On top of that, it also has the same three side buttons found on the regular G-Shock 5600 series, which further allows users to switch between different modes or turn on the LED light.
Equipped with a glass fiber-reinforced resin case and bezel, it features a user-replaceable battery, which is rated for 2 years. Other features include 200 meters (20 bar) of water resistance, alarms, and pulsing light, which glows subtly at a preset time or at the top of every hour.
