Hands-on photos of the Casio Oceanus OCW-S7000CN-1A surfaced alongside the watch's official launch just a couple of days ago. Thanks to these, we have a much clearer idea of how the watch looks outside of polished product renders. The Oceanus line has always been about premium finishing and luxury, and these images make that much more obvious than the official announcement did. Let's take a closer look at them.
The first thing that catches attention is the case and bracelet. The watch seems to use a full titanium build with a black DLC finish, and the close-ups show sharper edges and more complex machining than usual. The bracelet links have noticeably angular facets, and the brushing looks deep rather than lightly painted on. The clasp shot also shows a nicely engraved Oceanus logo, with a matte texture that complements the reflective polishing around it.
The dial is more interesting in these real photos too. Instead of looking flat and uniform, the surface has a textured, almost stone-like appearance that shifts under light. The sub-dials and markers pop out more clearly, and the framed date window at four o’clock looks far more refined in person. The bright blue Oceanus wave logo is striking against the black background - much more noticeable than in the original press images.
But the main takeaway from these angles is the sapphire bezel, which will be a big selling point for this watch. The facets around the bezel pick up light and shift between dark blue and silver tones depending on the angle. It’s the kind of detail that doesn’t really translate well in studio renders but looks impressive in real life. You can also see the world-time city abbreviations underneath the inner edge of the bezel - NYC, RIO, DEN, HNL and others.
The side profile shots show a relatively slim case considering the feature list, and the lug shape looks like it should wear comfortably. The pushers and crown have a clean, angular build, and the crown has an engraved Oceanus symbol. The caseback shows Bluetooth, Multiband 6 radio sync, Tough Solar, sapphire crystal and 10-bar water resistance.
As for availability, nothing new has surfaced yet. The watch is currently priced at ¥308,000 (about $1,968 USD) in Japan, and so far it seems to be limited to physical retail instead of online listings. No global release info has been spotted.
