Casio launches two new G-Steel watches with Bluetooth and Tough Solar

Following the Japan launch, Casio has officially released its G-Steel GST-B1000 series watches in the UK. Despite coming from the G-Steel family, these watches aren’t fully metal watches. Speaking more precisely, the G-Steel GST-B1000 series are essentially more affordable versions of the full-metal GST-B1000BD watches. Casio has swapped a stainless steel band for a lightweight resin band, obviously to make these latest watches lightweight and affordable. The GST-B1000BD series (curr. at $440 on Amazon) watches already launched in the US in June, and you can read about them here. 

Casio has officially listed the G-Steel GST-B1000 series watches on its UK website. The lineup consists of the GST-B1000-1A and the GST-B1000-2A models. Both are paired with a lightweight resin band. These new watches weigh just 58 grams (0.12 lbs). In contrast, the full metal models weigh almost double at 118 grams (0.26 lbs). The metal case with a logo-less, sleek, and minimalist bezel has signature G-Shock toughness. 

You can choose either the classic black or the dark metallic blue dial color options. Both models have one thing in common, which is a brick pattern borrowed from the very first G-Shock GW-5000C watch. However, there's no difference in the thickness of these watches compared to full metal models, as both models measure 11.6 mm (0.45 inches) thick. The dial of the GST-B1000-1A and the GST-B1000-2A watches are adorned with lume-coated three analog hands, hour markers, two subdials, and a date window. 

The digital-analog watch is powered by Casio’s Tough Solar charging system. Plus, there’s Bluetooth connectivity for auto time sync via the Casio Watches app. Other notable features include 200 m (20 bar) water resistance, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, an alarm, and a Super Illuminator LED. As for price, the GST-B1000-1A and the GST-B1000-2A cost £330 each. Both models are slated to ship in August 2026.
