Blizzard's mobile WoW project might be back in development
In 2019, Blizzard partnered with NetEase to develop a mobile version of World of Warcraft, set in Azeroth but during a different time period. However, development was discontinued in 2022 due to financial disagreements. According to gaming journalist Daniel Camilo, there are indications that development has now been resumed.
Camilo, a resident of Shenzhen, China, claims to have spoken with multiple sources within the gaming industry in recent days, whom have confirmed that development on the mobile version of World of Warcraft has resumed. The insider posted this information on X (formerly Twitter):

As Camilo goes on to explain, he has no solid proof that Blizzard and NetEase have actually resumed development. Specifically, however, he has heard from a colleague that there are currently suitable job advertisements. On the other hand, he has also spoken to people who have not heard anything about a resumption of the WoW mobile version. The leak should therefore be treated with caution. However, if it turns out to be true, Camilo expects a release in 2027 or 2028.
