As promised, Aoostar has now started selling its first complete eGPU solutions globally, just a day after the company presented the pair. On the one hand, it has released the XG76, full details of which we have covered separately. In short, the XG76 is a Radeon RX 7600M-based eGPU, unlike the OneXGPU, AG01 or the GPD G1 (curr. $699.95 on Amazon).
On the other hand, the XG76XT utilises a GPU that has not graced the eGPU market yet. Initially, we believed that Aoostar had meant the Radeon RX 7600M XT when it referenced the Radeon RX 7600 XT in its marketing materials. However, the company's full specifications confirm the inclusion of a desktop variant, which could well be a first for the eGPU market.
Ultimately, little separates the Radeon RX 7600 XT from the Radeon RX 7600M XT. For instance, both feature 32 Computing Units (CUs) on a Navi 33 GPU, 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running at 18 Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus and 32 MB of AMD Infinity Cache. Typically, the Radeon RX 7600 XT has a 58% higher TGP though, which coincides with higher boost and game peak frequencies.
For some reason, Aoostar has downclocked the Radeon RX 7600 XT inside the XG76XT to 150 W, albeit while maintaining a 2,470 MHz game frequency. In other words, it remains to be seen how a 40 W TGP drop will impact gaming performance. For reference, the XG76XT also features OCuLink and USB4 inputs, plus DisplayPort and HDMI video outputs. Currently, the XG76XT is only available from Aoostar directly, from where it will ship on November 29 with a $619 list price.
