Aoostar has now joined the likes of Ayaneo, GPD and One-Netbook by unveiling two complete eGPU solutions based on AMD's RDNA 3 architecture. Specifically, Aoostar will offer the choice between the Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon RX 7600M XT, which will be available as the XG76 and XG76XT, respectively.
For reference, the Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon RX 7600M XT are separated by about 20% in our benchmarks. In part that is because the latter contains four additional Compute Units (CUs). These CUs are complemented by faster VRAM though, as well as a higher boost clock speed. Nonetheless, both GPUs are powerful enough to handle most modern triple-A titles at 1080p in medium or high graphics settings.
As for the Aoostar XG76 and XG76XT themselves, both support OCuLink and USB4 connectivity. Moreover, the latter delivers up to 100 W of power to a connected device. On top of that, Aoostar has included a pair of DisplayPort 2.0 connections, a single HDMI 2.1 port and a second USB Type-C port connecting accessories.
Unfortunately, Aoostar's first eGPUs miss out on USB Type-A ports and M.2 SSD expansion. Allegedly, the pair do not break 50 dB even under full load though, unlike some of their competitors. Still, even the XG76XT will only be about as powerful as existing solutions like the GPD G1 (curr. $699.95 on Amazon). Aoostar will begin offering the XG76 and XG76XT on November 21 globally for $499 and $619, respectively.
