Black Shark GT3 debuts as curved AMOLED smartwatch with Bluetooth 5.3 and AI assistant
The Xiaomi spin-off Black Shark has just augmented its smartwatch line with the new GT3. It is a departure from its S1 Pro predecessor not merely in the sense that it is square rather than round, but in that its display and case have a curved design much like that of the OPPO Watch 4 Pro.
At 1.96 inches across, the GT3's display is in fact slightly larger than that of the 4 Pro, and it even technically has the higher resolution of the 2 at 410x502.
Then again, it has a relatively tiny battery at 250mAh in capacity - although Black Shark backs it to get up to 10 days between charges - done via a wireless puck, moreover - thanks to an "ultra-low-power" chip.
On that note, the GT3 is not associated with anything like the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, and works via a Shark Wear app rather than Wear OS. Nevertheless, Black Shark touts it as an 'AI watch' thanks to the integration of the OEM's new Shark GPT that apparently works in either English or Chinese.
The GT3 also comes with an "unlimited" combination of watch-faces thanks to AI, and also supports ~100 work-out modes. Its chassis comes with claims of advanced "durability" and a IP68 rating, although it is also described as made of "zinc" rather than something like stainless steel.
Nevertheless, Black Shark's latest wearable is touted to deliver the same "sleek curves" and "sharp elegance" of OPPO's curved Watches at a fraction of the price.
It is currently available to order from AliExpress at $33.99, or 57% off its intended RRP, in black or silver with a choice of 2 (silicone or leather) bands per SKU - neither of which, it should be noted, have GPS.
