Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro presented with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a 108 MP triple camera
Xiaomi has announced the Black Shark 5 Pro, its latest gaming-focused smartphone. Predictably, the Black Shark 5 Pro has a high refresh rate display and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. According to Xiaomi, it has equipped the smartphone with a 6.7-inch OLED panel that operates at 144 Hz and 1080p.
Moreover, Xiaomi will sell the Black Shark 5 Pro with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage split between a 256 GB SSD and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 flash memory, unlike the Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 RS. Reputedly, the Black Shark 5 Pro has scored 1,129,716 points in AnTuTu, which would be enough to take it to the top of the benchmark's leaderboard. However, it is unclear under what conditions this benchmark result was achieved.
Additionally, the Black Shark 5 Pro has a 4,650 mAh battery that supports 120 W charging, plus magnetic shoulder buttons for gaming on the go. Incidentally, the handset also has a 108 MP triple camera, presumably the ISOCELL HM2. The Black Shark 5 Pro starts at CNY 4,199 (~US$660) and will be orderable in China from April 2. Xiaomi will offer the Black Shark 5 Pro in the following memory configurations; a global launch is unknown at this stage:
- 8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 4,199 (~US$660)
- 12 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 4,699 (~US$739)
- 16 GB of RAM/512 GB of storage - CNY 5,499 (~US$864)
