The free tier of Microsoft Copilot has received an upgrade, and it now offers the GPT-4 Turbo from OpenAI. Previously, the non-Pro tier of the generative AI chatbot had regular GPT-4, and the Turbo model was only available through a $20 monthly subscription.

Microsoft has boosted the free tier of its Copilot. All the general users can now access the advanced GPT-4 Turbo from OpenAI without any subscription fees. With this, the company's generative AI chatbot became packed with more features than what the free version of ChatGPT offers.

In case you're wondering, the GPT-4 Turbo from OpenAI offers several upgrades over the normal GPT-4. One of the main highlights is a 128,000 context window, allowing the AI chatbot model to process a large amount of text to generate an answer. In simpler words, it can handle a single prompt as large as 300 pages, and this context window of the Turbo model is four times higher than that of the regular GPT-4 model.

Additionally, the GPT-4 Turbo has an updated knowledge cutoff of December 2023. That means the free chatbot from Microsoft knows more than the free tier of ChatGPT and the regular GPT-4 model. As for the Copilot Pro users, they have the option to switch between the non-Turbo and Turbo models with a toggle.

Besides that, Microsoft Copilot Pro users still enjoy other benefits. For example, the paid tier brings faster AI image creation and the ability to build custom GPTs through the Copilot builder tool. Also, the subscription unlocks the integration into Microsoft 365 apps (12-month personal subscription available on Amazon). More information about the Pro plan is available on the official website that's accessible through this link.
