Not quite grown up yet. The new VivoBook from Asus sounds promising: A new quad-core processor and a dedicated graphics unit are wrapped in a premium-looking case. The sales price also seems very fair. While it looks similar to the high-quality ZenBook visually, taking a closer look, this is only the surface.

Lightweight performer. The new Vivobook is lighter and thinner than most 15.6-inch laptops equipped with the same GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. The keyboard and poor serviceability, however, bring down an otherwise great multimedia machine.
Asus Gaming X570UD Review: Light But Not a Lightweight
Source: Unbox English Archive.org version
At Php 59, 995 for the configuration that we got this in, the Asus Gaming X570UD is quite compelling for what it has to offer and with the welcome surprises it has as well. It’s a decent notebook for productivity and a bit of gaming but may require a little extra care if you are planning to bring this laptop with you all the time but there’s more to love about this notebook.

ASUS VivoBook F505/X505 review – a nice budget notebook with a Ryzen processor
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
The ASUS VivoBook F505 turned out to be a great budget-friendly notebook. With a starting price of just $499 you can’t ask much from it but still, you can configure it with up to a Ryzen 7 2700U which provides plenty of performance for most users.

Asus VivoBook 15 review: A laptop that doesn't cost much, yet looks premium
Source: Business Standard English Archive.org version
The relatively thin screen bezels, weight of the notebook and addition of a USB Type-C port at this price point are the highlights of the VivoBook 15. The cooling system also handles stress better than a lot of competitors. While the build quality is a bit questionable, overall it makes for a great option if someone is in the lookout for an entry-level laptop that looks premium and handles everyday chores with ease.

70% Asus VivoBook 15 (X505Z) Review
Source: NDTV Gadgets English Archive.org version
We have to hand it to Asus for pricing the VivoBook 15 (X505Z) this aggressively. At Rs. 35,990, it's tough to find anything that matches the model we have in terms of specifications. The closest one that we could find, with Windows included, is the Acer Aspire 5 (A515-51) but it has 4GB of RAM and a lower resolution display for a bit more money. The VivoBook 15 (X505Z) launched in December with a 1-month exclusive tie-up with Paytm Mall, and even today, that's the only place that seems to have all the variants listed.

At the given price point, the Asus laptop handles graphic-intensive applications and games very well. The Asus Vivobook X505 offers decent performance for the price. It has a vibrant display which is good for watching movies, but unfit for photo editing. The performance is acceptably good for using Office applications but programs like Photoshop or games like Doom are not meant to be run on this laptop. This machine is greatly suited for anyone who needs a portable machine for work and doesn’t want to spend much on it, but there are better machines if you’re a power users, albeit for a higher price.

70% Asus VivoBook X512 review: A laptop that gets the job done
Source: Gadgets Now English Archive.org version
At the given price of Rs 65,990, the Asus VivoBook X512 offers some really good features such as Core i7 processor, SSD, and dedicated graphics card. However, there are a few things such as overall build quality, display, audio quality, etc. where Asus could have done a slightly better job. Overall, Asus has made it clear that this is just a VivoBook laptop which is meant to be a value-for-money device and offers one of the best price to performance ratio.

70% Asus VivoBook 15 X512 review: Impressive performance for reasonable price
Source: India Today English Archive.org version
The VivoBook 15 X512 is Asus' idea of offering a laptop with flagship class performance for a relatively low price. However, the real-world implementation isn't as practical as it looks on paper. The display is below average, the speakers are not up to the mark, the keyboard is not comfortable and the overall plastic build doesn't justify its premium pricing. The only reason it really makes sense to pick this up over a bulky gaming laptop is for the unbeatable performance from its 8th Gen Core i7 processor. And for Rs 65,990, it is still acceptable but you have to be really needy for the Core i7 performance only.

ASUS X509 review – an entry-level all-rounder
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
First, let’s note that at this price point, all expectation should be severely lowered. After all, this device is not battling with any MacBooks or Dell XPS 15s. With that said, we should start with the design of this machine. The X509 is a pretty sleek laptop that despite its plastic design, manages to give a somewhat good feel when handling.

The Asus VivoBook 15 X512D is a solid, consistent performer that stays cool under every circumstance. It’s a really good beginner laptop for younger children, students, or casual users. The VivoBook 15 can handle day-to-day light productivity tasks well and is decent for consuming media although the display is a letdown.

Asus Vivobook 15 X515JA Review
Source: Digit week English
You can’t expect a laptop that costs almost £300/$380 to be perfect. That’s not why the VivoBook 15 exists. Buying laptops that cost less than $500 comes down to weighing the pros and cons and finding the right device for your needs. In that frame, the VivoBook is fairly well-rounded in terms of features and features; however, its latest upgrade, the ASUS VivoBook 15 X515EA is money better spent. The screen is thankfully 1920 x 1080 for a far clearer picture than HD, though it lacks the same vibrancy of its ZenBook siblings, and maxes at 200 nits. The screen is perfectly usable when paired with the Core i3 CPU, and you’ll have no issues with word processing, emails, heavy web browsing, and streaming. Overall, the Asus Vivobook 15 X515JA stands out among other budget laptops I’ve reviewed at this price point. It’s not a flawless laptop by any stretch, but it is one that I’d suggest for anyone who needs a cheap, do-it-all PC at home.

80% Asus Vivobook 15 OLED 2022 review: The everyday productivity notebook
Source: The Indian Express English
Beyond aspects like its design and performance, the standout feature of the Asus Vivobook OLED is its Pantone Validated OLED display panel, which is one of the best displays in the segment. This makes the machine one that is great for those who deal a lot with visuals while working on college projects or office assignments. If you’re one of these users, the amalgamation of this screen, the performance and other elements like the full keyboard may just be the combination you’re looking for in your next laptop. However, if it is just the performance you’re looking for, you should be able to find more affordable options.

Asus VivoBook 15 X515 Review
Source: PCR English
On a typical day, if I were in a rush and needed an affordable throwaway laptop to run a few basic tasks, the Asus VivoBook 15 X515 (X515MA-AH09-CA) would likely carry the day. It has just enough power to run everyday tasks and enough power to type away an urgent office document. But as this Asus Vivobook 15 review has shown, performance is where this model draws the line, and the dim display doesn’t make things better, either. At least there are lots of ports, so if the VivoBook 15 X515 is the only choice you have in your backpack, an external monitor, a set of speakers, and a mouse can help with some of its issues. But if you can swing it, at least consider spending a few hundred more on the Core-i5 version of the VivoBook 15 with more power in the processor.

60% Asus Vivobook 15 review: A solid low-cost laptop
Source: PC World English
Not an exciting laptop, but a good all-rounder if you’re looking for something for writing, browsing, chatting or office work at an affordable price. However, there’s a lot of competition at this price point, and the Vivobook 15 doesn’t really do anything to stand out.

It’s all about the display. If you can find the Vivobook 15 with the IPS display option, even if the price is closer to £600, then it’s an immediate and unqualified recommendation because everything else is impressive for the money, from the keyboard to the speakers, to the Wi-Fi 6E modem and from the design and build to the user-upgrade options. But the simple fact is that the thing you use the most on a laptop is the screen, so it has to be up to snuff, and the TN panel on this Vivobook 15 simple is not. The situation is not made any easier by Asus’ confusing product offering. All told, there are 5 versions of the Vivobook 15 X1504 available in the UK with either Core i5 or Core i7 processors and ranging in price from £459 (as tested but with the i5-1235U CPU and 8GB of RAM) to £800 for the Core i7 model. However, it’s nigh-on impossible to determine which is the TN or the IPS display.

ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED (X1505) review – when your display is doing the heavy lifting
Source: Laptop Media English
Displays are often overlooked in laptops. People tend to often concentrate on resolution, and settle for TN panels with narrow viewing angles, just because they are Full HD. But in our opinion, the display is just as important as any other factor of the machine. Sometimes, it is even more crucial – especially when we talk about OLED displays. ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED (X1505)’s OLED panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and an infinite contrast ratio. This produces true blacks, which are really pleasing to the eye. In addition, the full DCI-P3 color coverage makes the image vibrant. Interestingly, the 15-inch model comes with a larger battery than the 16-inch one – 50Wh vs 42Wh. But still, the port selection lacks an SD card reader and a USB Type-C port that can be used for something more than data transfer.

ASUS Vivobook 15 F1504 (X1504) review – inexpensive laptop that performs well
Source: Laptop Media English
It looks like the ASUS Vivobook 15 F1504 (X1504) is a good choice in its class. The machine doesn’t cost a lot but it offers good performance and comfort during heavy loads which isn’t a common thing for an inexpensive laptop. Curiously, the cooling looks so basic but it’s doing a good job under any kind of stress. The P cores boost to almost 3.00 GHz in short periods of load and that’s why the laptop feels very responsive for daily and office tasks. The overall performance of the device is very good and you can use it even for light gaming. The single fan isn’t noisy and it can turn off completely when the notebook is in an idle state or when the CPU isn’t working hard. We like the input devices – the keyboard has a long key travel and clicky feedback which makes it very comfortable for long typing sessions. There is a NumPad section for the accountants out there and an optional backlight. The touchpad is also nice because of its smooth surface and good accuracy. The display (AUO B156HAN02.1 (AUO21ED)) is a mixed bag.

Intel Ice Lake:

i7-1065G7: Ice Lake-based quad-core processor for thin and light laptops. The four cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz to 3.9 GHz and should offer 18% more IPC (instructions per clock) than the previous generations (and therefore partly close the clock speed gap). Produced on first-gen 10 nm Intel process.

i5-1035G1: A low-power, Ice Lake family processor (SoC) featuring 4 cores, 8 threads, 6 MB of L3 cache and the UHD G1 (32 EUs) iGPU. This Core i5 saw the light of day in H2 2019; it is designed for use in highly portable consumer laptops. The CPU cores run at 1.0 GHz to 3.6 GHz. The Sunny Cove microarchitecture that is in use here is notable for several improvements over Skylake including support for new technologies, new instruction sets and fast LPDDR4-3733 RAM. There is no PCIe 4 support here, however.

AMD Picasso (Ryzen 3000 APU):

R7 3700U: A laptop-grade APU featuring four Zen+ cores clocked at 2.3 GHz to 4 GHz and a Vega graphics adapter with 10 CUs clocked at up to 1,400 MHz.

Intel Tiger Lake:

i5-1135G7: A quad-core, mid-range processor of Tiger Lake product family designed for use in ultra-light laptops. The i5 is manufactured on Intel's second-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin and features an 80 EU Iris Xe G7 iGPU. Core i5-1135G7 has a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz as long as it is allowed to consume 28 watts.

Intel Alder Lake-P:

14.00:

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.

In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

75.06%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
