Amazfit rolls out new update for smartwatches to fix battery problems
The Amazfit GTS 4 smartwatch is receiving a new update with version number 5.0.3.3. The software does not bring Zepp OS 3.0 to the wearable, with some users expressing their disappointment on Reddit. However, it does provide an important update for the watch.
The latest software for the GTS 4 fixes a bug that caused abnormal battery drain. Amazfit suggests this was a problem with users who connected their smartwatches to Android smartphones. One customer confirmed on Reddit that the update had resolved the battery drain issue in their case, reporting that they still had 69% remaining after seven days. While many other features and bug fixes are listed on the change log, these were all provided with the previous release, version 5.0.2.1. Examples include a new heart rate algorithm, Cadence Assistant and resolving issues with the Always On function.
Version 5.0.3.3 for the Amazfit GTS 4 is 7.28MB in size and downloadable via the Zepp App. The company suggests that you ensure you have the latest version of the app before you start the installation process. It is unclear whether Amazfit has already pushed the latest software to all smartwatches or if this is a phased release. Whether or not the watch will be updated to Zepp OS 3.0 in the future also remains to be seen.
