The relatively inexpensive 15.6-inch laptop offers over 6 hours of real-world WLAN use, a secondary 1 TB HDD, and a GPU powerful enough for 1080p gaming.

The arrival of mobile Intel 9th gen CPUs and Nvidia GTX Turing GPUs means laptops equipped with last generation processors can start hitting rock bottom prices. NeweggFlash is currently selling the Acer Aspire 7 sporting an Intel 8th gen Core i7-8750H CPU and GTX 1050 Ti Pascal GPU for just under $700 after applying the code promo code 'NEFPCA3'. Newegg will even throw in a free Acer Predator mousepad to sweeten the two-day-only limited deal.

For reference, gaming laptops sporting GTX 1050 Ti graphics initially retailed for about $1000 to $1200 USD when they launched early last year and so the $700 asking price makes this Acer fairly attractive. Performance comes close to the Turing-based GTX 1650 when playing DX11 titles, but the gap widens in favor of Turing when playing newer DX11 titles. Nonetheless, the GTX 1050 Ti is powerful enough to play even the latest games at native 1080p with decent graphical settings. We recommend checking out our full review on the Acer Aspire 7 for more details on its performance.

Expect more deals on PCs and electronics throughout the month now that Amazon Prime Day has essentially become a national Holiday for online shoppers. PC makers like Dell, Lenovo, and Chuwi have already revealed most of their sale items.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s. When I'm not managing day-to-day activities and US review articles on Notebookcheck, you can catch me following the eSports scene and the latest gaming news.
