AMD Ryzen 5 125

The AMD Ryzen 5 125 is a low-end notebook processor from the Hawk Point series with four cores and Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), allowing it to process up to eight threads simultaneously. The CPU uses the Zen 4 architecture and runs at 2.8 GHz (base clock) to 4.5 GHz (single-core boost). It offers 4 MB of L2 cache and 8 MB of L3 cache. The R5 125 is similar to the older Ryzen 3 8440U and Ryzen 3 7440U chips.
Thanks to the new architecture and high clock speeds, its performance should be significantly better than that of older Ryzen 3 processors (e.g., the Ryzen 3 5425U).
The chip integrates an RDNA 3-based graphics unit (iGPU) called the Radeon 740M, featuring 4 CUs, a clock speed of up to 2.3 GHz, and an AV1 video engine. Unlike the larger Ryzen models, the R5 125 does not feature an XDNA AI accelerator. Hawk Point supports two USB 4 ports (40 Gbit/s), 14 PCIe 4.0 lanes, and a dual-channel memory controller for DDR5-4800 or LPDDR5x-7500 with ECC support.
The TDP is configurable between 15 and 30 watts and is set to 28 watts by default.
