Rumor | A late-2021 flagship Xiaomi phone with an under-display camera, 120W charging and UWB is on the way
A mysterious new smartphone has emerged in new leaks that hint at big plans at Xiaomi for the remainder of its 2021 product cycle. According to the prolific leaker Digital Chat Station, the device in question will support extremely on-trend features that were notable by their absence in the Mi Mix Fold and 11 Ultra.
They include an under-display selfie camera (or UDC), which might have fit in very well with the specs of the OEM's inaugural foldable smartphone, particularly as it now seems headed for the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3. Nevertheless, it is reportedly destined for a different upcoming Xiaomi device, which may have the model number M2106118C.
This phone is also now touted to support UWB, a craze currently sweeping the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultras and iPhone 12s of the world, and yet is overlooked even in the Mi 11 Ultra. Furthermore, this new leak very vaguely hints at a new round of Xiaomi ecosystem or mixed-reality products with this technology...Mi Smart Tags, anyone?
The "M2106118C" is also now linked to a 120W wired/70W wireless charging profile, which sounds like the intermediate step between the highest-end 120W/50W specs from the Mi 10 Ultra and the upcoming 200W/120W major upgrade.
This, then, supports an emerging picture of a potential Mi 10T or 10T Pro successor (or a Mi Mix 4, perhaps?), rather than an outright Mi 12. On the other hand, any official confirmation of the same from Xiaomi is not forthcoming as yet.
