The Xiaomi Mi A2 receives fixes for over a dozen security flaws with its latest update
Xiaomi has pushed a new update to the Mi A2, following a similar update that it rolled out to the Mi A2 Lite last week. Like the Mi A2 Lite, the Mi A2 is now eligible for the June 2021 security patch, which addresses numerous security issues. Google has outlined what Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) it has integrated in the June 2021 security patch in its latest Android Security Bulletin.
By our count, the June 1 security patch fixes 14 critical or high CVEs. V11.0.27.0.QDIMIXM supposedly optimises system performance too, although Xiaomi never discloses how. The Mi A2 should receive security updates until July 2021, so V11.0.27.0.QDIMIXM could be the device's penultimate update. If that is the case, then V11.0.28.0.QDIMIXM will probably be its last.
Xiaomi has issued V11.0.27.0.QDIMIXM as an over-the-air (OTA) update. If you would rather update your Mi A2 using a fastboot or recovery ROM, then you can download these via the links below. Please note that Xiaomi hosts these files on its servers. We would only recommend using these if you want to start afresh on your Mi A2. Otherwise, we would suggest waiting for the OTA to arrive.
