reMarkable 2 was previously the manufacturer's most compact tablet with a screen diagonal of 10.3 inches. This has just been undercut by the recently unveiled Paper Pro Move, which measures just 19.6 x 10.8 x 0.65 centimeters and weighs 230 grams. While this makes the device too large for many pockets, it should make one-handed use much easier.
The heart of the reMarkable Paper Pro Move is an E Ink Gallery 3 display in 16:9 format, with a screen diagonal of 7.3 inches and a resolution of 1,696 x 954. The panel can display colors and, thanks to its integrated front lighting, can also be used at night. As is typical of E Ink, perfect readability is guaranteed in direct sunlight. This makes the reMarkable Paper Pro Move ideal as an e-reader, but the included stylus also makes the tablet perfect for taking handwritten notes.
The stylus attaches magnetically to the right side of the tablet and is charged wirelessly. Thanks to a 2,334 mAh battery and the energy-efficient display, the reMarkable Paper Pro Move is said to achieve a battery life of up to two weeks, and a charge from 0 to 90% takes just 45 minutes. With a processor featuring only two ARM Cortex-A55 efficiency cores and 2 GB of RAM, the tablet delivers only modest performance, but the energy-efficient, Linux-based reMarkable OS should still enable smooth operation.
