The reMarkable 2 is currently the manufacturer's most compact E Ink tablet, but a much smaller model is coming on September 3, as the manufacturer has officially confirmed in a teaser video (embedded below). Official promo images have already been published on Reddit, showing off the brand-new reMarkable Paper Pro Move in advance.
While the exact screen size is not yet known, the images indicate a diagonal of around 8 inches, making the e-reader only slightly larger than a smartphone. reMarkable includes a "Marker Plus", a stylus with an integrated eraser that magnetically attaches to the side of the tablet and can be wirelessly charged, similar to the Apple Pencil 2. The e-reader is said to offer a battery life of two weeks, with a charge from 0 to 90% taking 45 minutes. Marketing materials confirm that reMarkable incorporates a display backlight and offers the same cloud features as the larger reMarkable Paper Pro.
To use these features, however, a reMarkable Connect is required, which costs $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. This subscription includes unlimited cloud storage for documents, numerous note templates, access to iPhone and Android apps, and a warranty extension for the tablet up to three years. The reMarkable Paper Pro Move is expected to launch with a stylus and protective case for $449, while a bundle with a leather protective case is reportedly available for $499.
