Xiaomi has refreshed one of its large Android tablets. Offered as part of a long-awaited launch in its home market, the new release expands upon existing models in various aspects, including multiple exclusive accessories. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition remains exclusive to China for now.

Xiaomi has now launched its latest large Android tablet in a new version. Surprisingly, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro debuted first globally before reaching China. Meanwhile, the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max have arrived in Xiaomi's home market today, before being offered as the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max globally.

By contrast, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro has been on sale globally since last September (curr. $268 on Amazon). Now, Xiaomi has updated its 12.1-inch tablet with a Harry Potter Edition, which joins Wi-Fi and 5G variants that Xiaomi already offers internationally. Core specifications remain unchanged for the device's Chinese release too, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset complemented by a 12,000 mAh battery and 33 W wired charging.

Likewise, all Redmi Pad 2 Pro variants leverage a 2.5K and 120 Hz display. However, the Harry Potter Edition adds several exclusive accessories like a carry case, a folio cover and even a stylus customised to resemble a wand. Moreover, the Harry Potter Edition features an exclusive Blue finish with a Hogwarts logo emblazoned on the back.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition retails for CNY 2,599 (~$373.99) in China with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. In comparison, standard versions with the same memory configuration run to CNY 500 (~$72) less than the Harry Potter Edition counterpart. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not offered any indications that it will be offering the special edition version of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro globally.
