A new leak has indicated that there may not be a direct successor to the Poco X7 after all (curr. $282.99 on Amazon). For context, a rumour emerged in mid-December alleging that Xiaomi decided against releasing a Poco X8 Pro in any capacity. The same was true for the Poco F8, with Xiaomi having now launched the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra globally.
At the time, reports claimed that Xiaomi was developing the Poco X8 Pro Max instead. With Xiaomi having now introduced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China, it seems that the company has already started updating HyperOS code to reflect its global counterpart, too. Incidentally, the same leak appeared to outline the Poco X8 Pro's battery capacity globally as well.
As for the Poco X8 Pro Max, PaperKing13's findings indicate that it will not match the Redmi Turbo 5 Max's 9,000 mAh battery capacity. Nonetheless, an 8,550 mAh capacity should provide the Poco X8 Pro Max with a significantly larger battery than Xiaomi's other smartphones globally.
Moreover, Xiaomi will complement this massive battery with 100 W wired charging. If the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is anything to go by, then the Poco X8 Pro Max will miss out on wireless charging capabilities altogether. Please see our Redmi Turbo 5 Max launch article for more information about what to expect from the Poco X8 Pro Max before it launches globally.
