Xiaomi has just released the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China. Currently, neither smartphone is expected to receive an official release globally. The pair are available to import from third parties, though, just as is already the case with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max should reach other markets by other names, though. Currently, the former is anticipated to arrive as a successor to the Poco X7 Pro (curr. $372.99 on Amazon). Thus, the Poco X8 Pro should line up with hardware like a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset and a 120 Hz AMOLED display that spans 6.59 inches diagonally.
Unfortunately, leaker PaperKing13 indicates that it will be a familiar story concerning the Poco X8 Pro's battery capacity. Writing on X, the leaker reports that the Poco X8 Pro will match its Redmi Turbo 5 sibling with 100 W wired charging for a 10 W boost over the Poco X7 Pro.
The Poco X8 Pro should feature a larger battery than its predecessor, too. Specifically, HyperOS code indicates that the device will launch with a 6,500 mAh battery. A 500 mAh uplift on the Poco X7 Pro globally, this 6,500 mAh battery falls 1,060 mAh and 14% short of the Redmi Turbo 5 in China.
