Shortly after a leak revealed Samsung’s magnetic Qi2 power bank for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra, SamMobile has published four photos of the brand-new Samsung Magnetic Wireless Charger (EP-P2900). Samsung apparently opted for a design similar to Apple’s official MagSafe charger (from $37 on Amazon), but the housing and cable of Samsung’s counterpart sport a black finish.
The USB-C connector carries the “Qi2 25W” logo, and the packaging also confirms that the charger supports the current version of the Qi2 standard. This allows compatible smartphones to be charged wirelessly at up to 25 watts. This includes the Apple iPhone 17, while the Galaxy S25 can only be charged at up to 15 watts due to a limitation of the smartphone, not the charger. The back of the packaging also notes that use with Samsung Galaxy smartphones is only possible if a Qi2-compatible protective case with magnets is used.
This might indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S26 series won’t have built-in magnets and can only be used with magnetic accessories or Qi2 chargers when a corresponding case is installed. According to earlier rumors, Samsung is expected to offer a wide selection of magnetic protective cases for all three Galaxy S26 phones. If Samsung does indeed omit magnets, the selection of Android smartphones with full Qi2 support beyond the HMD Skyline would remain very limited.
