One of Xiaomi's next global smartphone releases has turned up in a fresh leak. For context, the company is preparing to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China later this week. At the same time, we await global launch details about the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra that Xiaomi has been offering in its home market for some time.
Now, the long-awaited Poco X8 Pro has surfaced on the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand. Specifically, Xiaomi has certified the Iron Man Edition for sale globally with the model number 2511FPC34G. While the listing does not reveal what the device looks like, the information confirms a few details about the Poco X8 Pro ahead of time.
For example, the Iron Man Edition will return for a global release just like with last year's Poco X7 Pro (curr. $372.99 on Amazon). Not only that, but the regular Poco X8 Pro appears on track for a full global launch. Additionally, the model number 2511FPC34G shares its root with the 2511FRT34C, with 'P' and 'R' signifying Xiaomi's Poco and Redmi brands, respectively.
In other words, the NBTC indicates that the Poco X8 Pro is the global version of the Redmi Turbo 5. As a result, it looks like Xiaomi will soon be expanding its Poco X series with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-powered option complemented by up to 16 GB of RAM and two rear-facing cameras.
